Registration

How Registration Works

Five recorded steps connect the horse in front of you to one permanent record.

  1. 01

    Apply

The owner creates an account and submits the horse's known details and supporting records. Membership and registration fees are published before payment is requested.

    To be announced

  2. 02

    Microchip

A veterinarian places an ISO 11784/11785 microchip in the left side of the neck. The owner provides the number for the horse's permanent identity record.

  3. 03

    DNA Sample

Hair roots or blood are submitted for DNA parentage testing. The result is compared with the recorded sire and dam before pedigree is accepted.

  4. 04

    Review

The Studbook checks the application, identity, parentage and required inspection evidence under Society rules. Inspection scoring bands are set by the Society Board.

  5. 05

    Entry And Passport

A registrar approves the appropriate Register entry. The owner receives the horse's registration number and lifetime passport after all requirements are met.
